Backing Up On The Go
From Geospike DocWiki
If you're on the go, and away from iTunes for a while, it is a good idea to backup your GPS Log data regularly, in case something happens to your iPhone.
Geospike Sync
This is by far the preferred method, due to it's simplicity and comprehensiveness.
Simply hit the 'Sync' icon at the top right of GPS Log's spike list screen, and press 'Sync Now'. Do this as often as you wish to backup your data, and consider enabling the 'AutoSync' feature to do this automatically.
Data sync'd in this manner can be downloaded to any modern device running iOS.
Adding the Backup Service
- Connect to a WiFi network
- From the main screen, hit 'share'
- Select 'Add new service'
- Select 'GPS Log Backup'
- The service should now download
Using the Backup Service
Once the service is added, you can use it by:
- Connect to a WiFi network
- From the main screen, hit 'share'
- Select 'GPS Log Backup'
- Set 'Include Photos' to 'None' (including all photos will probably make your email too big)
- Press 'Export'
- You should now have an email with the GPS Log database attached. This file can be used to recover your GPS Log data (but not your photos, unless you included them) should something happen to your iPhone
- If you don't receive the email, check your SPAM folder, and check that your email address was typed correctly.
